7- DAY SAILING EXCURSION IN NORTHERN SPORADES
SUMMER 2010

Marine and Sailing Enterprises S.A. are again organizing weekly programmes for marine vacation in the complex of the Northern Sporades. By joining this marvelous excursion you will enjoy the beauty of Greece in a unique vacation by sailing in the fascinating Aegean, swimming in the clear blue sea, discovering lonely islands and secluded beaches, visiting picturesque villages, relishing Greek specialties at the local taverns and night clubbing at the Islands.
Our well-trained and experienced skippers as well as our fully equipped yachts guarantee a safe and unforgettable vacation. Please, don’t hesitate to bring your children along; we will accordingly equip the yachts. For singles or couples we will try to find a matching crew. If you know about sailing you are welcome to give the skipper a hand, if not, you might learn some basics about it. Or you can also just relax and let the skipper take care of everything. Our boats depart every Saturday at 8:00 a.m. from the Marina of Thessaloniki and return there the following Friday evening.
The full program of the excursion is as follows:

Friday, we gather at 18:00 at our company’s office where you meet your skipper and get acquainted with the rest of the group. You all together organize and buy the shopping-list regarding food and provisions. The night you can spend on board (if you are interested you should, please, inform us in advance).
We depart on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. from the Marina. After our first stop for swimming, lunch and rest at Sani or Posidi (beautiful beaches on Kassandra/Chalkidiki), we arrive at Skioni late in the afternoon.
On Sunday morning we set sail for the island of Kyra-Panagia where we arrive at Agios Petros bay in the afternoon. With appropriate weather conditions and if the members of the group agree, we could leave for Kyra-Panagia Saturday night for a little exciting night sailing. In this case we arrive at Kyra-Panagia on Sunday morning, so we gain an extra day in the Islands.

The small deserted island of Kyra-Panagia belongs to the North Sporades complex with a clear blue sea and many beautiful locations to explore.

On Monday morning we set sail and after a short stop at Agios Dimitrios beach for swimming, (a lovely beach on the island of Alonissos) we arrive at Steni Valla (Alonissos). There we could buy provisions from the supermarket situated on the harbour, taste the fresh fish and lobsters at the local taverns and also visit the old capital of Alonissos with its beautiful architecture and enjoy the excellent view and breathtaking sunsets.
On Tuesday morning we depart for Skopelos. On our way we stop at the south side of the island Peristera for swimming in one of its most delightful, secluded beaches. In the afternoon we arrive at Skopelos, which is probably the most beautiful island of the Sporades. You shouldn’t miss the local specialties (such as Skopelos’s renowned cheese pie), visit the numerous small churches, have fun at the bars and clubs or just stroll around the narrow streets of the village.
On Wednesday morning we sail around Skopelos and anchor at some of its beautiful and protected harbors (Stafylos, Agnondas, Panormos). For lunch we stop at Panormos, a unique natural harbor and leave in the afternoon for Skiathos. Here it is worth visiting the house of the famous writer Papadiamantis. Skiathos, also known as the «small Mykonos», has many luxurious shops and an exciting nightlife with an international flavor in numerous bars and clubs.
On Thursday morning we go to the renowned beach of «Koukounaries», which is surrounded by pine forest, for swimming and then continue to Agios Giannis (Pilio mountain) where we have lunch and relax. We spend the night in either Stomio (Tsagiezi) or Kamari (Pilio), both small well-protected harbours.
On Friday morning we leave for Thessaloniki, where we arrive in the afternoon, after having a short stop for swimming and our last meal on board in Epanomi.

The price of this excursion is 500,00 Euro per person and includes: accommodation on board, fuel and water for the boat, skipper and moorings.
Concerning your luggage (please no suitcases but sport bags) we suggest you bring: a sleeping-bag, sheets and pillowcases (there are blankets and pillows on board), rubber-soled shoes, warm clothes (just in case), a jacket (oilskin), sun protection cream (high SPF), swim suits, shorts, T-shirts, towels and also some clothes for going out at night. Please take as little as possible because there is limited storage space on the boat.
In July and August the boats depart every Saturday from the marina of Thessaloniki and return there next Friday. The rest of the year boats may depart as long as there is a group of minimum 4 people.
